This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

--BenofZongo 13:57, 1 April 2007 (MST)Present. My sister will also be here. Both of us will be having pizza. The pizza will be "on the house" this week: ie I will pay for it. If no one objects, I think I'll get it from Pudge Bros.

--Dieter the Bold 01:47, 2 April 2007 (MST) I'll be there. And I love frakking Pudge Bros. Please count me in.

--Edmiao 08:09, 2 April 2007 (MST) I'll be there and it would be rude to turn down free pizza..... And I'd hate to be rude. .... So I won't be rude....... Which means I'll eat the pizza.

--Gdaze 10:16, 2 April 2007 (MST)Yikes, I really don't want to miss character creation! So I might stop by for that since this is the game that is going to be run, yes? If so, what exactly is the plan? Dieter went over it a bit with me. I can maybe take a few hours break from the con to come by and make my character (but not actually play in the prolouge).

--Edmiao 10:23, 2 April 2007 (MST) Playing the prologue is more important than making your character. you can make character at home via email, I think. The important part of this system is the "hook" created during the prologue that ties you to the other characters.

--BenofZongo 10:26, 2 April 2007 (MST)Agreed, the prologue is the first session and is by far the most important thing for "regular players" to be a part of: if you don't participate in the prologue, like I said, you don't make your own character. You can make your character on your own time as long as you are in communication with me, the GM, as long as you participated in the prologue.

--Edmiao 10:36, 2 April 2007 (MST) I think the final sentence to the above is...."Otherwise you get to play a supporting character, which was generated in the prologue by either the GM or his sister."

--BenofZongo 10:38, 2 April 2007 (MST)Yes, sorry about that. The given supporting character can then become your character, ie, it is no longer available for guests to play.

--Gdaze 11:01, 2 April 2007 (MST)Hmm, I would think that for the player enjoyment being part of the character creation would be the most important part... I really wouldn't have minded missing a one shot but now that it will be the new game I played... If I had known that I wouldn't have made some plans that I can't really cancel... I dunno if I'd want to play a character I didn't have a hand in creating in a long standing run like this will be... Maybe I shall infrequent this game as well and just stay with a supporting.

--BenofZongo 11:11, 2 April 2007 (MST)Look, if we can't do character creation for the actual campaign this Friday, we won't: we'll just do a one shot like we had planned. Is that what you would prefer gabe?

--216.64.164.103 11:16, 2 April 2007 (MST) Oh no no, I don't want to hold up the whole campaign for just me! I mean Dieter, Ed, and Matt will all be there (all of whom are some of the most regular players). Plus aren't we going to add a new guy to this one? I'm just saying it is hard for me to be really excited about a guy I didn't really make ya know? I'll still play him though, I just don't want to make an important guy like I was going to (say for example the captin!). I'll post a character concept where everyone else is for now and just see what happens then. Er is that okie if I put what I'd like the supporting character to be?

--BenofZongo 11:29, 2 April 2007 (MST)Look, I'm interested in having a gaming group that's fun for everyone. For me, as the GM, I'm psyched as hell to run this game, but it requires enough players. If I lose one of my players because of a single week's schedule conflict, I'm willing to compromise. We aren't getting another player because Jason can't support it in Exemplars. As far as what the compromise is, if we have to move the character creation session, fine. If you can take off 3 hours from the con and be part of the prologue, and then want to make the character during the following weeks (which is what everyone else will do anyways to a degree, except that they will plug in their numbers and do ship creation and maybe a short session this friday), fine. If you want to put up a character concept and have it made as a supporting, fine (I'll even make sure Salo makes it, she seems to be very in tune with your characters). But please, rather than throwing up your hands and saying "Well, then I don't even want to BE a player!" (unless that's really what you want) I'd prefer you offer some alternatives/explanations, given that I really want this to be exciting for everybody.

--Gdaze 11:37, 2 April 2007 (MST) Oh 3 hours? I thought it was gonna take all night or something. But oh I wasn't going to not play at all, I would just become much more supporting character...ish... I'm tired. Alright... so you think it should only take 'bout 3 hours? We start right at seven correct? Hmmm I can see about that...

--BenofZongo 11:56, 2 April 2007 (MST)Well, the last two times we've done the prologue, it's taken 1.5 hours. I'd like to draw this one out a bit, so I figure 7-10 pm for the prologue. 10-12 pm for character creation/ship creation. 12am-??? if people are like me and want to play late, and we might actually make the "rescue the ship" scenario the first "mini-session". In terms of having maximum control of your character, all you need to be around for is the prologue...once you're tied into the group and have your card and have spent your fortune points how you want, you can have all the time in the world to make your character/write your background.

Other random comments to the group

--Edmiao 02:20, 31 March 2007 (MST)I have made up my mind, i propose we vote. I expound upon this in:Votin' fer the new game

--BenofZongo 02:49, 31 March 2007 (MST)After a discussion with Dieter, I'd like to broach the subject of recruiting a new player. I've got a particular recruit in mind, although I don't think he has time/desire enough to become a permanent fixture in our group: of course, if other people had specific people they'd like to recruit, I'm happy for us to collectively decide if we want another and if so, who would be a good addition. My main motivation for this is that I'd like to make sure we can average 4 players a session for Gemini. The main consideration outside of this as far as I'm concerned is whether or not Jason can accomodate another player in the Exemplars game.

--BenofZongo 02:59, 31 March 2007 (MST)Also, just so it's up here, I will be gone 4/20/07. No, I will not be smokin' the dooby.

--Gdaze 13:04, 31 March 2007 (MST) Also, next time we play could we please cut back on playing other games during the actual RP? It was very distracting and resulted in nobody following the story really.

--BenofZongo 13:32, 31 March 2007 (MST)Yeah, sorry about that, guilty as charged. It's definitely something we need to limit.

--BenofZongo 13:56, 1 April 2007 (MST)Everyone can post potential character concepts, as many as they like, on the gemini characters if they feel like it. Also, if you have an opinion about what sort of missions you want to see the crew engage in, post that to the appropriate talk page as well. If there are secret details you'd like to ask about, you can email them to me.

The Next Step in Gemini

--Dieter the Bold 01:59, 2 April 2007 (MST) Alright gents, since we're going with Gemini, how do we want this Friday to run? Gabe will make it for the Prologue, but can't stay later due to Sakura-con. So, how many times do we want to run the Prologue? Running it at least twice means we can see what everyone is thinking in terms of group set-up and let's us customize the second round. Do we also want to make the ship at the same time and run a quick adventure (rescue the ship)? Anyhoo, just wanted to get some paperwork out of the way.
