WHFRP Reboot talk archive Old discussion moved to an archive because I thinke we have come to a solution detailed below.

--Edmiao 09:36, 5 September 2007 (MST) this discussion has actually been really good for the Elrin character. It has made me think about what I want him to be a bit more thoroughly. Deiter's comments especially have gotten me back on track and showed me that I played the character contrary to how I want him to be. The Elrin that you all saw in the last two sessions, the childlike and distracted and gleeful attitude during combat, those are all characteristic of Elrin before he met Ig at the time of the circus. So the first session prologue was a correct portrayal. Now, he has changed significantly. He will be intelligent, have poise, maybe be a little distant which might seem haughty if you didn't know better. He will be pretty elf like, actually. but sometimes he hears voices, sees things that aren't there, or aquires odd beliefs that seem contrary to reality. This is the character that should have been present last session. Recall I said that he seemed much more sane to you in the present game time than in the prologue, but then my play of him did not change. I think he'll be a much much more interesting character this way and again, thanks Deiter for making me think about who he should be again. You're right, having a child in the group can be tiresome; i got really tired of Raphe by the end and had no desire to play him again! this has got to be the most thorough debate about a character's personality that we have ever had. and a productive one to boot, which is faily uncommon as well for our long discussions. Hurray team!

--Dieter the Bold 12:50, 5 September 2007 (MST) Yay! New discussion topic: Where are we going? I mean, grand scheme?
Dementis wants to put down roots and start up a criminal empire.
Borobro has the same basic idea, but doesn't really care about being in charge so much. He just wants freedom from fear and material worries.
Elrin:?
Ignotus:?

It's fine if you want it to be a secret, but it would be nice to have some kind of feel for where people are going so we can try and march more in step. I think it will be a huge boost to group cohesion if we have the feeling we're all marching to the same tune, as it were.

--Gdaze-- Hmm, kinda like gettin stuck in a mind frame for a character? I've done that so much, like after a game night I'm like "Why did I do that... that isn't what I wanted the character to be like anymore!"

Dementis: Alright bro here is what I'm figuring... See, this cop? We gave him a lot of info, maybe too much. But I think we can make this work for us. At the party we should approuch *that guy with a G name* at the party. He owns this place, and he can get us out of our problem. Also at the party we can find some info for some no-name lacky, set him up as the vicitim, and then we can leave town when we want. Now we are sitting pretty with the town guard and the big time smuggler. Of course, do we even wanna keep smuggling? I ain't sure this is our kinda work, ya know? We need to start crawling up the ladder, make a name for ourselves. I want richs Bro, want a nice place for my family.

--Edmiao 13:31, 5 September 2007 (MST) Elrin's goal in life is to stay sane. He has proceeded along this path over the last year by aquiring friends (Ig) who helped him get out of his rut. He has no ambition to get rich or build an empire, but is not opposed to such action. Actually, for a change, this is a character whose main motivation in life is to stay in a group of close comrades. wow, a character whose main goal is group unity. ain't never seen that one in our games before. of course, his little mental instability may run counter to that goal, but there you have it. In the next session his goal would be to resolve his wanted criminal status or learn to live with it. does anyone have diguise?

--Gdaze-- You know I THOUGHT entertainer or Minstril would... but they don't...

--Dieter the Bold 15:33, 5 September 2007 (MST) Entertainer and Minstrel don't have disguise? WTF!?! And Ed, awesome goal. Expect a switch in Borobro's attitude and treatment towards Elrin with the new rp'ing tack you're taking. Surgery can improve insanity you know. I'll make a case-study of it. And Dementis, I'm all for working this out and staying in the city. I'm also down with setting up a patsy. I vote the little *H* bitch we ran into our first time. I'm also all for continuing our shadow-trading ways.

--Gdaze 19:32, 6 September 2007 (MST) Do we get 100 exp for last game by the way?

--Matts 23:54, 6 September 2007 (MST)Didn't I give it to you?

--Edmiao 09:15, 7 September 2007 (MST) it was not stated last week, so we will take that as a yes, we got 100xp from last session

--Gdaze-- Yes, we shall! We are the collective! But yeah it wasn't stated. But no fret, exp taken. Afterall, Warhammer is all about planning out 3 careers then only getting to one!

--Matts 10:13, 7 September 2007 (MST)That's correct! Your characters all die, you have to make new ones with only the free advance!

--Edmiao 12:34, 7 September 2007 (MST) already done!

--Matts 13:00, 7 September 2007 (MST)I said only the free advance! No extra XP! Basic careers! Let's get back to the stripped-down core! Stripped!
