Beeler

Slight and frail, with an odd twinkle in his eye and a wry sense of humor that can sneak up on a person, Beeler is an accomplished Ocampan scientist. He had to fight (figuratively, of course; he'd never win a real fight) to be considered for a spot on the crew of the FSS Tahoma due to his advanced age of five Earth years; with the nature of the Tahoma's mission, there was some doubt that he would live long enough to make it home as a member of her crew. However, curious and an explorer at heart, he couldn't pass up the opportunity a mission to the Shackleton Expanse might offer. Though he knows he may die before he makes it back home, he is determined to be as helpful to the mission and his fellow crewmates as he possibly can be. His dream is to find a means of extending the lifespan of his people if they so choose, so they may someday be able to know a greater breadth of experiences like most other races do. He sometimes feels that others overlook Ocampans because of the very ephemeral nature of their lives.
