Behemoth autopsy
So far, the Behemoths have not been encountered outside the company of the diminutive Grays. The current theory is that the Grays, being physically weak, rely on the Behemoths for their muscle. And when it comes to Behemoths, they have absolutely no lack of muscle.
Reports from field agents have consistently noted the incredible toughness of the Behemoths they have encountered, and not all of this is due to the heavier armor they wear. These soldiers are huge, and in addition to their sheer size, autopsy results have revealed that their muscle tissue is interwoven with artificial fibers, and their bones and ligaments are sheathed with layers of reinforcement. This not only appears to promote their general sturdiness, but likely increases their overall strength.
Like the Grays, the Behemoths encountered seem to have been heavily modified, but not made completely uniform like the Grays. There is some variation between recovered corpses (though all appear to be male), and strangely enough, underneath their armor, several specimens appeared to have tattoos and markings similar to ritualistic scarring as seen among some primitive human cultures. Our scientists have no way of determining if there is any meaning to these instances of body modification.
The structures of the Behemoths' brains leads our scientists to believe they are much simpler creatures than the Grays, and while unquestionably sentient, the diminished nature of some neural structures (if they correlate to human brains) suggests that they may be more animalistic in nature. Pain centers look to be underdeveloped, as well as certain structures that we expect deal with processing risk-taking and self-preservation. In short, the Behemoth's brain seems to be geared toward the gung-ho end of the spectrum, and field reports certainly back that up. They act fearlessly, are nearly impossible to pin down under suppressing fire, and are murderously aggressive.
It was not so noticeable in the Gray autopsy because they were so heavily laden with cybernetic augmentation, but the autopsies of Behemoth corpses have revealed an anomalous implant in their hands; our researchers are not certain yet what they do, but the implants are directly linked back to a well-developed portion of their brains, and the most popular theory so far is that the implant is somehow involved in the operation of alien technologies, or perhaps is the interface used to control the "Green Gun" weapons that appear to have no obvious trigger mechanisms.
Completion of the Behemoth autopsy will currently yield benefits toward research of the following technologies: Cybernetics, Light Alloy Armor (reguires Power Systems and Principles of Nanotechnology), Alien Hierarchy (requires Alien Interrogation), Plasma weapons (Multiple unknown technologies required).
