Blackout

The Blackout was to be the Collective's second move (after the Sweeps) to try to curtail human resistance in preparation for their assault of Earth. Using a small ship equipped with an "atmospheric overcharger" they intended to destroy our electrical grid and make almost all of our electronic devices non-functional.

The ship propagating the Blackout landed on Tiger Mountain on January 30th, 2014. The following day, a group of soldiers and civilians assaulted the site, destroyed the atmospheric overcharger device and captured the vessel in what came to be known as "Operation Torchlight."
