CoC One Shot
To determine who is interested in playing in a longer term CoC game, I am organizing a CoC one shot. It will be 'The Horrible Secret of Moneghan Island' and will not be related to the longer term campaign. I can be ready anytime for this game.
I also have a second one-shot available as well. Im thinking what we will do is play Moneghan Island, then when there is another window do the second one-shot. With the second one its quick enough that we can make characters that night, then play. This way everyone gets to know the char gen stuff and gets a second dose of the game before we commit to the AWI thing.

What the hell is it?
This is a standard CoC game set in 1920's Maine. Characters will be pregen, but requests will be entertained. The goal will be to get used to a different style of game and get a basic understanding of what the numbers on the character sheet mean. Ground rules will also be established (for instance, min-maxing and ubergaming will be punished, its a horror themed game).
Much like the preludes before, the goal is to find the weaknesses before the game happens, so experimenting is encouraged. If we know where things might break, we can fix it more easily.
One final thing that must be remembered. You know about big scary monsters, your characters dont. The characters often dont suspect that what is in the basement will kill them with no recourse. For the horror to be real and everpresent some characters will have to die. If this doesnt get roleplayed well, something might have to happen. In short, its great to be cautious, but if no one is curious, few interesting things occur.
I am interested in this!
Put your stamp here if this appeals to you.
--BenofZongo 14:25, 29 May 2007 (MST)I'm interested, although I need to know the when/where/how long before I can say 100% that I can play. I'm assuming this is proposed as a Friday night one shot? or will this be at a separate time?
--Jason 14:32, 29 May 2007 (MST)I think that one week you need a break from GMing we can do this.
--Gdaze 14:34, 29 May 2007 (MST) Very interested. If possible I'd like it if we could do this on a Friday.
--Edmiao 14:50, 29 May 2007 (MST) sure. what does CoC stand for?
--Jason 15:01, 29 May 2007 (MST)Call of Cthulhu
--BenofZongo 15:37, 29 May 2007 (MST)I don't actually get tired of GMing, because there's always so many things I want to fix/improve from the previous week. That being said, I am excited to play in this game, so I'm happy to hand you the reins when you want them.
--Matts 16:02, 29 May 2007 (MST)for shizzle on the rizzle bo-twizzle
--Dieter the Bold 19:33, 30 May 2007 (MST) Ftaughn Cthulhu Ryleth! Ftaughn!! Ftaughn!!!

Date?
As soon as someone has a firm idea for when, place that here.
--Jason 14:25, 30 May 2007 (MST)How about next Friday (9 days from now)? --Gdaze 22:15, 6 June 2007 (MST) Gabe: Fine by me. Lets have it at my place as I have great clixs for horror.
--Edmiao 16:17, 30 May 2007 (MST) darn, i'm going to oregon to visit family, gonna miss it.
--Jason 16:18, 30 May 2007 (MST)We can postpone a week or something. I want all who wish to be involved to have the opportunity.
--Jason 12:55, 6 June 2007 (MST)For this weeks one shot, would you guys prefer to make characters or have pregens? If we have pregens, you can still request any archetype you wish.
Gabe: Pregen is fine by me.
--Dieter the Bold 20:47, 6 June 2007 (MST) I'm fine with pregen. I'd like to be the carpenter. Have we settled on a place? Gabe wants his 'cause of the clix characters. Mine's open and will be quite cozy with only four of us.
--Gdaze 22:15, 6 June 2007 (MST) Lets do it at your place then Dieter. And I am totally playing a Nosy Neighbor.
Ben: I'll play either the dilettante or the occultist
--Jason 14:41, 7 June 2007 (MST)How many players do we have this week? Ben will be an occultist Dilettante, Dieter a carpenter in Ben's uncle's employ and Gabe a neighbor of the house in question. Anyone else?
Nate's coming
--Jason 15:11, 7 June 2007 (MST)A boozing PI it is...
Ben here: also, I have a work bbq tomorrow, so although I may have a piece of pizza or 2 (or 3: if I eat pizza, obviously I'd chip in) I'd prefer not to be in charge of picking it up. Alternatively, we can just not get pizza this week and everyone can grab their food independently. Basically, up to you guys.
--Dieter the Bold 19:30, 7 June 2007 (MST) My place it is, then. 16220 NE 12th Ct., Apt. C38 Bellevue, WA 98008. To make it easy for anyone who can't remember how to get here, take the east NE 8th St. exit on I-405 and drive on that until you hit 164th Ave. Take a left and my complex will be on the left hand side with a little red sign saying "12th Pl. Apartments". There's visitor parking just to the right as you come in, and more in the first lot on the left and along the central lane. My building is all the way at the back, second to last on the right. I'm on the ground floor in the middle. I also have access to a Costco card and a car, so I'm willing to grab the pizza so long as I know how much to get.
You should probably get 2 for the number of people who will be there. Edit: yeah, and you might as well count me in for pizza, I know I can't resist its siren call.
--Jason 15:41, 8 June 2007 (MST)Hey Dieter, do you have a printer at your place?

Ill list a limit next to them if only a certain number can be used, if no number, then you can all pick that if you want. The list isnt exhaustive, any requests should be placed here and will be accomodated if at all possible. First come, first served.
