Gustav Agustus
A polyglot and linguist, Gustav Augustus is a distinguished academic type in his mid-sixties. Until entering stasis for the Morrow Project, Gustav was the Howard Nostrand Professor of Linguistics at UW in Seattle, where he earned the moniker "Professor Gus" over almost 20 years of teaching. Prior to that, Gustav lived all over the world as a language teacher, translator, and cultural advisor to corporations and governments. He's somewhat disappointed that he couldn't get his elbow-patched jacket into the bolthole.
Gus is a pacifist; he prefers first to talk peacefully, second to discuss strenuously, third to disagree vigorously, and to resort to violence never. He understands that may not be entirely realistic in this dangerous, new world, but he would rather stand as an example of civilized life than squat in the immorality of violence with everyone else.
Gus keeps a journal.
