Lorelei Mathilde Lachlan in Vietnam, 1971

Lorelei Mathilde Wilson nee Lachlan was born February 7th, 1949 in New Haven Connecticut. She is 65 years old. She is the wife of Steven Wilson and the mother of Douglas and Fayth Wilson (and some might argue the mother of Doug, as well). She was trained as a nurse and enlisted during the later years of the Vietnam War, where she eventually met the man she would marry as he was recuperating from injuries sustained in combat in her medical ward. After coming home, she and Steven lived with family in New Haven for a short time, where he eventually proposed to her at a Pink Floyd concert (Dark Side of the Moon at Radio City Music Hall), during the song "Breathe." This came on the heels of them almost splitting up over disagreements of where to settle and what to do with their lives. They struck on a compromise and set out for a location neutral to both of them, and wound up in Elma, Washington.

In civilian life, Lorelei continued on as a nurse, and made excellent money at it, especially in the years before her retirement. She is very friendly and easy-going, but can also strike some as seeming rather benignly regal or matriarchal. She is known by many around town as just a sweet old lady, famous for her pies, jams and fried chicken.

Shortly after the Sweeps, when aliens poisoned the local water supply with a nanotechnological toxin, Lorelei fell victim to the attack, and was in a coma in the local hospital. With no progress in her diagnosis, the local medical director had to make a tough call and informed Dr. Wilson that he would have to remove her mother from the life support and cut off the medications keeping her alive since the bed space was needed for people who had a better chance of surviving, and the irreplaceable medicines were needed for others. Fayth and her father had to accept the fact that their mother and wife would soon die. Until she had a "miraculous" recovery at the eleventh hour that still baffles the hospital administrator. Lorelei was able to return home, but Dr. Wilson alone learned that it was because Vladimir Gurov had cloned her and replaced her. To this day, Fayth does not know the whereabouts or the fate of her actual mother, but she accepts the clone in her place.
