Portnoy
Portnoy is a topsider local who volunteers to work the lounge in Bunker November. He is well-versed in brewing beer and is learning how to distill alcohol, with a special focus on Kentucky-style Bourbon. While his attempts at crafting the hard stuff haven't met with resounding success yet, he is a surprisingly adept mixologist, and can manage to mix a drink that can even make his least palatable hand-crafted Bourbon palatable (his specialty is a Boston Sour).
Portnoy is an older man, probably in his mid to late fifties, balding and with a fluffy, bristly gray mustache. He is fairly short (about 5'6") and stocky, and has been described as having a "slab-like" face with beady eyes. He does not have an overly personable demeanor (possibly why he is a former bartender), but he has found a certain amount of success at Bunker November because of his ability to keep the suds flowing, and the fact that many of the Rangers appreciate a fella who can give them a decent pour and not pester them with conversation. He is less popular with some of the younger, hipper folks at the base like some of the engineers and scientists, many of whom were university students before the Sweeps. He is looking into hiring on more socially adept assistants to cater to their needs.
