Sylvia O'Roarke

First lieutenant Sylvia O'Roarke is the commanding officer of the MACO platoon on Constitution NX-04 in Boldly, We Go.... Sylvia chose to forgo promotion to captain, and instead accept this assignment on the Constitution.

Style

Sylvia is a hands-on leader who is aware that her relative lack of experience is a potential liability, so she leans heavily on Bill Helmengaard and Soo-kyung Kim to provide the insight from an experienced eye. Her training is in combat, but she prefers to avoid fighting as much as possible. Her study of Sun Tzu has ingrained in her that most battles are won before they are fought.

Personal

Sylvia enjoys card games and is an avid gambler. She is a fan of many sports, and also enjoys ballroom dancing. She hopes after the mission is well established that she can begin a competitive ping pong league, and also find a suitable dance partner. She hopes to join the diplomatic corps or go in to politics after the conclusion of the mission.
