Mission
The Niven is assigned to Military Operations Command, and as such has an unusually high security and marine contingent, while a proportionately low science complement. Most of the crew is very experienced, and their expertise is wide-ranging. Given their long distance from Starfleet Headquarters, they are required to be self-sufficient and capable of solving a wide range of issues on their own.
