on a slightly less theoretical level, I also think those kinds of situations are just as unrealistic as perfectly happy endings, because no plan ever goes of perfectly, no matter how brilliant the execution.  Hannibal, Alexander, and many others had "the perfect plan" but they could never carry it through to a lasting execution.  The ending of watchmen and the matrix has the same flavor for me: brilliant or powerful people make a decision that involves some sort of terrible sacrifice,  but in the end it falls on lesser men/women to make use of that decision.

Revision as of 15:53, 8 May 2007

This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

GABE: what day of the week are you planning to run your fantasy game? (ben)

--Gdaze 11:25, 30 April 2007 (MST) We will most likely be running it on either Saturdays or Sundays... usually alternating it somewhat.

--209.124.189.39 13:35, 8 May 2007 (MST) finished reading the Watchmen last night. really awesome ending. SPOILERS alert---> Ozymandias reminds me of Emperor Jin, the sort of long range planning and ruthless desruction of millions of lives to accomplish the goal of peace.

--Gdaze 11:39, 17 April 2007 (MST) That being said, I wouldn't mind having a board game night now and then. My dad would also be interested in joining, and would most likely clean the floor with us. We wouldn't even need to have everyone. Also if anyone is interested in some heroscape I'd be totally down too.

Also, what did you guys think of the fantasy thing? I haven't showed it to the group I'm running it with yet (save Dieter).

--Edmiao 22:16, 22 April 2007 (MST) Love to do board games sometime. Cheryl would likely join us. Interested in Heroscape, never tried it but sounds fun.
