[[Aedil]] Look, we went on this expedition, I am trying to work with you folks, but I am not one who has staked his life on profits in the past.  If you think some of these items have monetary value then you should speak up.  Frankly I see no reason why an old fork or an old coin or an ancient book would be worth a lot of money.  Thus I propose to turn these over for more rapid investigation.  Now some of you may know more about what these are worth on the street and have a differnt opinion.  Maybe ancient bones go for a lot of money on the black market, I don't know.  The only reason why I care is because you, my freinds, deserve some compensation for the expedition.  I will remind you that archaeological expeditions are hit and miss.  Sometimes you spend a long time digging and find nothing.  Sometimes you spend a day digging and find something prescious.  Let me remind you that the last site that the gods directed me to yeilded a small stone.  I just sold that small stone for 100,000 credits, which will be divided normally amongst the ship and crew as soon as Samuel and I get back.  Is that gain enough for you Ules?  Was that a useful adventure?  I would say yes.  Plus we learned that there is a promising site on Cassandra.  Now I am here with Platocrates, are there any other items that are of particular interest to any of you, given what you may know about the value of such things?

Gabe-  Nope, I never gave it back, unless it was forceable removed from me from the last session I missed but yeah, I never gave the coin back.  (IE he is not handing it over)

Revision as of 16:10, 29 June 2007

This page is for discussion of stuff related to the game coming up this week, no matter when that actually is. For instance, we can all assume Nate isnt coming for some lame reason and that Ed is sick of pizza and is bringing teriyaki or some other crap. They can post something here if that happens to be untrue.

-Gabe- My place will work for this weekend. So yeah, I'm in.

--Matts 11:05, 26 June 2007 (MST)I'll be there.

Ben: present: also, my friend Brandon (the priest from my b-day one shot, for those of you that were in that) will be coming and playing one of our NPCs. Guess it'll be a full house for once. Gabe, can you forward me your address again so that I can send it to Brandon?

--Edmiao 10:46, 28 June 2007 (MST) I will be either late or absent. Turns out that Cheryl has volunteered our house for a party to welcome the incoming Heme/Onc fellows this friday. suprise! I have leave to ditch the party after a few hours, so i might show up by 10. Or that might be an empty promise. also might be absent next week as Cheryl has the week off; 50/50 chance for next week. still a go for Saturday, though. Ben, I'll email you some stuff that Aedil want's to say to Platocrates.

--Dieter the Bold 20:49, 27 June 2007 (MST) Gentlemen (and Ed), I bear sad tidings: Dieter the Bold is ill. Ill enough that he's thinking of taking a sick-day off of work, or making it a half day. So I'm about 30/70 (noshow) for gaming this week. I barely have the energy to make it through the day, and I'm nodding off at 8pm. I really don't think I'll make it to gaming short of a dramatic improvement in my health. Plus I have to keep the gamer apocalypse from happening (i.e., full house with more NPCs). I'll keep ya'll posted.

Gabe - Dude if your gonna be sick I'd perfer ya not come. I'll of had a minor surgery that day and I really DO NOT want to be sick for this up coming week. So if your sick just stay home and rest!

GABE! I need your address again so that brandon can come over...we'll need him since we're likely to be missing at least 1.

--Dieter the Bold 19:56, 28 June 2007 (MST) Dieter the Bold regrets to decline attendance to this week's events. My symptoms are 90% gone, but it's currently 8pm and I'm barely awake. I'm going to bed in the next 15 minutes. If I had the energy I'd crash regardless of what virulent disease I brought with me. But luckily for Gabe I'm on such low power settings I just can't make it. Orentes is, however, more than happy to tell ya'll to go fuck yourselves if you need anything fixed though. Actually he'd be happy to help in any ways that don't endanger him or cost him money.

--Gdaze 23:03, 28 June 2007 (MST) Dude, what do you have anyway???

ADDRESS!ADDRESS! yes I know I should have it, but I don't save that sort of stuff! What do I look like, organized?!

Ranting and raving or other random comments

--Jason 23:44, 25 June 2007 (MST)Guess who has a job...oh yeah ME. Director of IT for Beechers Handmade Cheese! Hells yes, Im in the gourmet cheese business. The rest of you jokers are just in the cheesiness business.

--Matts 08:21, 26 June 2007 (MST)Standby for Jason's Palladium System game!!

--Edmiao 09:04, 26 June 2007 (MST)Congrats! do we get samples?

-Gabe- Dude that rocks, cheese rules.

Ben: gratz, lol, ch33z. Roflmao, gimme sum.

Ben: Transformers comes out monday the 2nd...but I think the GF is gonna make me go tuesday night. Given that, I suggest we get a posse together for an 8pm Tuesday night run on the cinerama. I have not yet bought my ticket, so I don't know what's available.

--Jason 00:32, 28 June 2007 (MST)Im in, if you buy tickets be sure to get me one and Ill reimburse.

--Matts 08:56, 28 June 2007 (MST)I've got Japanese class on Tuesday!

Er...well, let's do the 11:20pm show then. does that work for people?

Gabe here: Um, let me see if I can make this time or not. I might be going to see it with Noelle & her sister on Thursday but unsure of that.

--Edmiao 10:46, 28 June 2007 (MST) parents are in town tues-thurs, so I won't make the movie. plus I predict that it will suck nuts. and i don't mean almonds.

Gabe here to kick Ed in HIS nuts!: Well of course it is! The plot is gonna suck, the actors blow, but! GIANT ROBOTS TEARING APART A CITY! YES YES YES PLEASE! I don't need no deep plot long as my primal nature is entertained, huuuza!

--Edmiao 12:22, 28 June 2007 (MST)I must be getting old. cus that's what i thought before I saw Godzilla a few years ago and it blew chuncks.

--Dieter the Bold 19:58, 28 June 2007 (MST) If my energy level's back up enough to survive past 8pm by Tuesday I'm 110% down with going to a showing. I'd also be 120% grateful if you happened to purchase a ticket for me at the same time as you do yours. (Note: Reimbursement will not reflect my gratefulness.)

--Gdaze 23:03, 28 June 2007 (MST) Ah seems I'm going on the fifth.... bleh.

Other Nongaming Events

Settler -n- BBQ

--Edmiao 12:01, 24 June 2007 (MST) I will likely be able to host Settlers or other board game and BBQ on July 7 or 8th (Sat/Sun). Cheryl was excited for it. Interested? We have other board games up to 8 players and if there's more people, couples can share a team so come one come all! No I mean visiting my place not on Yo Momma! jez. Ben, I realized that we may poop out around midnight, so if you wanted to do this at your place for a longer night that's coo. just thought i'd offer our place for varried venue.

Ben here: I'm in: Saturday is better for me, cause sunday the 8th I'm going whitewater rafting at 2:30pm...although I could come after that if Sunday is the better day for others. I'm down with doing it at your place...if people still want to hang out after midnight, we can always shift locations then.

--Edmiao 10:22, 26 June 2007 (MST) Saturday seems better for me too. we'll do saturday, say starting somewheres between 1 and 6 depending on what folks prefer.

let's do one, that way we might be able to get more than one round of board gaming in that night. BTW, I'm gonna try to make it for CoH tonight, unless something goes horribly wrong at lab.

Gabe - Man I thought you meant City of Heroes and I got all excited.... buuu. Anyway I may come to this too... What kinda board games ya gonna play?

--Edmiao 12:02, 26 June 2007 (MST) we can play whatever. you can bring your favorite, or some of our favorites are: Settlers of catan, spacefarers of catan, robo rally, cosmic encounter, age of mythology board game, Illuminati, carcassone....off the top of my head. I also LOVE Titan, but cheryl hates it for understandable reasons.

Oh I love carcassone, thats the one with all the tiles right? My brother always kicks ass at that game though.. I'm not as a big fan of catan but only really have played it once. I've got some neat zombie games.

Dune BITCHES!!!!!

So Im almost done reading Dune, and since you jokers are playing in a space game I thought you might be interested in the following activity. I have purchased the David Lynch version of Dune, and the Sci Fi Channel Dune and Children of Dune miniseries'. My plan is to have a megaDune marathon some weekend day. Skippy got a new super huge HD widescreen tv, and it would be perfect for this event. Anyone who wishes to attend is invited. If interested, let me know what day would work best. Also, I got the Dune boardgame (won it, hasnt arrived yet), so I have included quite possibly the bestestest board game review EVAR!!1 [1]

The Next Step in Exemplars

Shoot the Midget

The Next Step in Gemini

Also See Ship's Log for past conversations.

Aedil This is Aedil calling the crew, I want to confirm your interest in our recent archaeological finds. I am here with Platocrates and he says to expedite the investigation, he would like to use the University facilities. However if he does so, we would waive our rights to financial gain from the items. I propose that Platocrates should turn over the following items to the University and the academic community for publication: the location and description of the site, the fork, the empty bottle, the pile of bones, the whole human skeleton, the item which by scans appears to be a book or stack of paper, the coin. Captain, you seemed somewhat attached to the coin, but it is only a trinket after all. I assume from previous conversations that the crew wishes to retain ownership of the PDA. In such a case, Platocrates will perform what investigations he can within his laboratory but further studies might need to be carried out elsewhere. Gentlemen, I solicit your opinions.

--Ules: We need money, one way or another, if we want to keep the ship running and the potential for further finds alive. That said, I have no particular opinion on what to do with an old fork.

Aedil What of the other items besides the PDA?

--Edmiao 09:33, 29 June 2007 (MST) note to GM. if other players do not express an opinion on the matter before or at game start then please consider it to be settled as described above.

Graz: Sounds good, just don't forget I got the coin.

--Edmiao 13:50, 29 June 2007 (MST) unless you refused to give it back, it is now in the hands of Platocrates. you may request that it not be handed over to the university if you wish.

--Ules Aedil, the expedition to Andromache was under your auspices. The gain from that trip will directly influence my decisions in terms of pursuing further such adventures. So feel free to give all that shit to Platocrates, but unless we see some real gain, the next time you claim riches await us on some hick-infested backwater, we'll rightly be more skeptical.

Aedil Look, we went on this expedition, I am trying to work with you folks, but I am not one who has staked his life on profits in the past.
