Ken is a physician's assistant and employee at Renewal Clinic. He was a promising medical student with a fantastic memory, agile hands, and a warm soul. Unfortunately, his life and career took a wayward turn following a passenger train derailment that flooded the local hospitals with patients. Ken had just worked over 24 hours straight and was exhausted when he was recalled to work due to this disaster. Despite hyping himself up on energy drinks, he was too tired to focus and made several small, but critical, errors in medication amounts for patients. His mistakes caused the deaths of six people.

Ken spent a few months in jail and was released on probation but he could never work in medicine again. In fact, he had great difficulty in finding any sort of work again and began drifting. Eventually, Ken ended up in New Orleans working odd jobs. Petra befriended him when she was at a diner where he worked as a dish washer. Petra's Nosferatu nature made Ken relive the smells and painful memories of the fateful night where he accidentally killed people. Petra noticed his discomfort and the two bonded over personal loss and frustration with the medical profession.

Petra made Ken a job offer which he readily accepted though he was skeptical. Ever since, Ken has been a steady employee and a good friend to Petra. He does not, however, know she is a vampire but he suspects something is off and believes she has some sort of terminal illness. He is torn between curiosity and maintaining a respectful silence. After all, if Petra dies he is out of the job but if he pries too much she also might let him go.

Personality-wise, Ken is phlegmatic and serious. He is acutely aware that life gave him a second chance and he doesn't want to jeopardize that. He likes stability and quiet, things lacking in his life during long years of uncertainty and emotional torment. For fun, Ken is training for a half-marathon and enjoys chess and experimenting with healthy cooking.
