Alien fabric

The material of the Gray's jumpsuits and the Behemoth's coverall is an unknown material with an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio. It can still be incredibly tough, even while being thin. It's lack of rigidity does little to mitigate blunt force and kinetic energy, though its composition and ability to dissipate heat may provide improved resistance to some energy weapons.

When the Pershings forcibly "repatriated" Jules Saint, they forced him into trying to research the alien fabric in an attempt to make some armor for the people of their clan. This research attempt was ultimately unsuccessful because Saint did not have enough time to pursue it before he was rescued and because the Pershings had little in the way of proper diagnostic equipment for Saint to complete any adequate studies.

Stage 1 Research on this technology has been completed. Alien fabric has an SP of 5-8. Without research into advanced fabrication techniques (Principles of Nanotechnology), reproducing alien fabric will be impossible.
